Westfield & Agent Advocacy Summary | Washington, DC | April 20–24

Throughout the week, Westfield and our agents participated in several key events, including the Insurance Campaign Institute, the Big “I” Legislative Conference and Fly In, the Future One Roundtable, and the Westfield Rooftop Reception at the Big “I.” As a long-standing tradition, this year’s reception also celebrated first time attendee travel scholarship recipients, an important investment in growing future advocacy leaders and promoting meaningful engagement. We were especially proud to welcome first time participants and hope this experience marks the first of many opportunities for them to engage in industry advocacy.
Westfield also participated in the Civil Justice Integrity Alliance meeting at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a new coordinating group that brings together carriers, businesses, and trade associations to align on advocacy strategies focused on legal system abuse reform. This meeting, underscores our sustained commitment to addressing abusive litigation practices that drive up costs for consumers, strain small businesses, and weaken the integrity of the U.S. legal system.
Our partnership with Future One remains a cornerstone of Westfield’s agent engagement strategy. As the longest running carrier agent partnership in the industry, Future One continues to provide critical insights and leadership. This year’s discussions included key legislative and regulatory issues, an update on the Agency Universe Study currently in the field, and reflections from the Insurance Campaign Institute earlier in the week.
Westfield is also proud to sponsor the Insurance Campaign Institute, a brand new, forward looking initiative designed to help “build the bench” by equipping future elected leaders with a deeper understanding of the importance of civic engagement and prepare them to run for office. Policymakers who understand our industry are better positioned to become trusted allies in fostering healthy, sustainable insurance markets.
One of the most impactful moments of the week was walking the halls of Congress together to advocate for legal system abuse reform. Hearing agents share firsthand perspectives with lawmakers reinforced just how powerful those voices are—and why small business owners and insurance agents are such valued constituents.
Thank you to all our agents and partners who joined us and continue to engage in this important work on behalf of our customers, our communities, and our industry.
