
Dan Thomas

Dan Thomas assumed the role of SVP, Chief Actuary, in August 2025. He oversees the enterprise-wide actuarial function, leading strategic initiatives that enhance pricing governance, reserving, capital modeling, and advanced predictive analytics to drive business performance and long-term financial strength.
In his role, Dan also provides thought leadership and technical expertise, supporting key areas such as underwriting, finance, strategy, and risk management across a diverse global portfolio. Additionally, he is a member of various enterprise governance committees and leads modernization efforts within the actuarial domain to promote profitable growth, innovation, and operational excellence.
Prior to joining Westfield, Dan served as the Chief International Actuary at Tokio Marine Holdings where he led a global team of more than 500 actuaries focusing on reserving, pricing, financial reporting, and capital modeling. As a fully credentialed property/casualty actuary, he possesses deep expertise in financial reporting and regulatory frameworks, and has been a trusted advisor to boards, CEOs, and global executive committees.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Mathematics from Vanderbilt University. He is a Fellow of the U.S. Casualty Actuarial Society and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
