Westfield Insurance Foundation Awards $1.3 Million Benefitting Communities Across 15 States
CLEVELAND, October 18, 2017 - Westfield Insurance Foundation recently announced that it has awarded $1.36 million in Family Stability and Legacy of Caring grants to benefit communities across the country.
Approximately $542,000 was donated through Westfield’s Legacy of Caring program in which Westfield agents can nominate a nonprofit in their local community. Grants were made to 78 nonprofits in 70 cities across 15 states within Westfield’s national imprint. The nonprofits’ missions align with Westfield’s focus areas of Family Stability, Safety, Disaster Recovery and Insurance Pathways.
"We value our partnerships with our independent insurance agencies. Giving back to our agents’ communities in support of these key areas is an extension of the fundamental role insurance plays every day in stabilizing families, businesses and communities," said Westfield Insurance President and CEO and Westfield Insurance Foundation Chairman, Ed Largent.
Additionally, $820,000 in Family Stability grants was distributed. Nearly 13,000 people across northeast Ohio will be helped through nine nonprofit agencies. Family Stability grants support comprehensive approaches to help families overcome multiple barriers and achieve greater stability by connecting issues of education, finance, housing and workforce. Westfield Insurance Foundation will work with the following nonprofits over the next one to three years:

- Youth Opportunities Unlimited
