Wadsworth receives grant for firefighting equipment
WADSWORTH: The O’Neill Group is giving the Wadsworth Fire & EMS Association a $9,000 grant to buy safety gear.
The money, which will be presented at noon Monday at the Wadsworth Fire Department Station 1, 153 Lyman St., is coming from the Westfield Insurance Foundation.
“By receiving this award, the Wadsworth Fire & EMS will have the opportunity to help protect our own members,” Wadsworth Fire Chief Robert Lindner said in a prepared statement. “This grant will provide vital safety gear for our firefighters. We can’t fully express our gratitude.”
The O’Neill Group nominated the group for the grant.
“The O’Neill Group embodies 30 fundamentals — one of which is ‘Make a Difference,” President and CEO Patrick O’Neill said in a prepared statement. “We are proud of the community we live and work in, and look for unique opportunities to support and partner with local nonprofit organizations that Make a Difference.”
