Unique program allows Westfield employees to paint trim and doors for two homes without leaving the office

WESTFIELD CENTER, Ohio, October 6, 2014 - Habitat for Humanity of Summit County, in partnership with Westfield Insurance, will host a unique volunteer day on Oct. 8 in the Westfield Insurance Headquarters parking lot where the doors and wall trim of two homes will be painted by Westfield employees. This is an extension of last year’s first, unique mobile work day for both Habitat for Humanity of Summit County and Westfield, where employees built the wall panels of homes for two homeowners. This year, the partnership continues to include trim and door painting. Last year, 118 volunteers participated. This year, Westfield expects more than 130 volunteers!

In addition to providing the labor needed to paint and build, Westfield Insurance Foundation will donate $6,500 which will allow Habitat for Humanity to purchase all the materials needed for this project.

Westfield Insurance, which has been involved with Habitat for Humanity since 2000, seeks to support community development programs that improve business and living conditions; safety programs that prevent accidents in homes, cars and businesses; and educational programs that provide avenues to future employment.
