Community Grants

Dear Nonprofit Partner:

We would like to thank you for your interest in learning about Westfield's community investment efforts. In recent years, the stock market collapse has affected almost everyone, including Westfield Insurance Foundation. We made the difficult decision to suspend our community grant program for the latter half of 2009 and the suspension continues. While the market rebounds, we are focused on the strength and our impact for the long-term. With each new turn in the economy, the Foundation board of trustees, community investment staff and grant review committee will continue to assess our funding situation.

We know that each year continues to be tough for nonprofits. For many, you have experienced an increased demand for services. And while we may not have financial resources available, itís important to Westfield that we maintain our community partnerships during these unusual times through programs such as:

  • In-kind donations
  • Volunteer support
  • Collaborations/partnerships

We are proud of our plans to continue our investment of nearly three million dollars, maintaining our commitment to our operating territories through programs that are aligned with our focus areas (safety, education excellence, community revitalization and human services):

Teen Driver Education

Habitat for Humanity

Rebuilding Together

Academic Challenge

Junior Achievement
