1998The rapidly changing insurance industry created a need for reliable outsourcing services for business processing and quality customer service. In 1998, Westfield Services, Inc. was formed to provide business processing solutions and data management for property/casualty and life carriers (including reinsurers) and offer a variety of outsourcing solutions to insurance agencies.
2000The Company adopts the name Westfield Group® as an umbrella over all Westfield companies, organizations and facilities and redefines its brand identity after extensive, year-long research obtaining input from agents, employees, and customers. Westfield Insurance ® becomes the trade name for the insurance operations. The tagline, Sharing Knowledge. Building Trust.®, coupled with a new innovative logo consisting of three stylized triangles in motion, underscores Westfield's long-standing commitment to relationships while embracing new developments and opportunities that result from collaboration and innovation.
2001With financial modernization, financial and insurance firms are now permitted to offer a variety of investment services and insurance needs to their customers. As a result, Westfield GroupSM creates Westfield BankSM, to better serve its growing customer base.
Westfield Junior PGA Championship
Westfield Insurance partned with The PGA of America and Westfield Group Foundation to bring the first annual Westfield Junior PGA Championship to northern Ohio in 2001. As host and title sponsor, Westfield took the championship to a new level, earning national recognition as "the best event to play and attend in junior golf." Each summer, many of the world's best junior golfers compete on Westfield Group Country Club's South Course.
2002Westfield BankSM dedicates its new home office in Westfield Center, bringing all bank employees together. The presence of the bank building speaks to the stability, permanence, and credibility of our banking business.
2003Westfield Insurance extends its community service involvement to sponsor Academic Challenge, a weekly television series that salutes academic excellence in local high schools.
2004Virginia becomes a part of the Westfield family as Westfield Insurance opens a new commercial lines and surety office in suburban Richmond, Virginia. This expands the Company's property & casualty and surety operations to 26 states. This branch will focus on middle market commercial, argribusiness and surety.
The ARMs (Agency Relationship Manager) position is established. The ARMs have a supportive role in Westfield's partnership with its agencies. This manager focuses on areas of agency performance, sales, profitability and planning, as well as identifying opportunities for the agency with Westfield. Agents and Westfield have worked together for over 150 years, and this is a relationship that Westfield does not take for granted.
20052005 marks the Surety Division's 50th anniversary of service in Westfield Insurance. The Surety Division has proven its success by being the number one surety company in Ohio and among the top 30 sureties in the United States.
Westfield makes it possible to provide even faster claims resolution for our customers with the new Customer Care Center, a 24-hour claims call center that allows policyholders and agents to report all losses either by phone or fax to a single 1.800-number.
In order to align Westfield's community giving with its corporate business and brand strategies, Westfield Group implements a new community investment strategy. The program focuses giving in fewer areas, resulting in greater impact. It follows three strategies of focus: Safety and Education, Housing and Home Ownership, and Health and Human Services. The initiative also increased opportunities for involvement of service office personnel and for directing funds outside of northeast Ohio.
In 2005, Westfield Insurance expands its sponsorship of Academic Challenge to include additional high school quiz shows, Pittsburgh's Hometown High Q and Columbus, OH’s In the Know.
Other sponsorships include the Cleveland Cavaliers Straight A Allstars, honoring scholastic achievement in students K-8; Westfield Group Youth Theater Series at Cleveland's Playhouse Square Center; Medina County Performing Arts Foundation; and Westfield Cup, a national collegiate soccer tournament hosted at the University of Akron. 2005 marks the Surety Division's 50th anniversary of service in Westfield Insurance. Westfield Insurance sponsors the Westfield Insurance Studio Theatre, used for television and radio production, theater performances, meetings, workshops and classes, most of which will involve studio audiences supporting children’s educational programming. The theatre is part of the Idea Center, a technologically sophisticated education facility that provides content, programs and hands-on learning for schools and communities throughout Northeast Ohio.
Westfield expands its support of high school quiz shows to include two new sponsorships: Brain Game Indianapolis and Brain Game Columbus (ONN).
In 2006, Westfield Insurance introduces a new product, Wespak Estate, to meet the needs of customers who own high-valued homes and possessions that require special coverage. Piloted in Ohio, the product becomes available in many Westfield states during 2007.
Westfield Insurance unveils a redesigned invoice that makes it easier for customers to read and understand their bill.
Property Casualty Insurers Association of America elects Westfield CEO Bob Joyce as first vice chairman for the 2007 term, confirming the strength of Westfield Insurance's reputation in the industry.
