1973

Company sponsors first national event under President J. Charles Bishop, the National Insurance Youth Golf Classic, drawing 150 golfers from 38 states.

1976

A.M. Best begins alphabet rating system, and the Company receives the highest rating, A+ (Superior). Westfield Companies implements Homeowners 76, a homeowner product with easy-to-read language.

1980

Westfield introduces innovative WIC billing system.

1984

Wespak policy introduced, combining homeowner and automobile coverages.

1989

Company supports agencies' automation efforts with the introduction of PASSPORT and distribution of Agenaware. First issue of The DecPage, the employee newsletter, is published.

1990

CEO Don Wilder and Executive President Cary Blair key in the first loss on Westfield's automated Service Office Claims System (SOCS). Official opening of The Center, includes 10,000-square-foot addition to the Old Club House.

1991

100th Annual Meeting of Westfield Agents Association of Ohio, Inc. A.M. Best expands rating system, and Westfield continues to receive highest rating, A++ (Superior).

1992

The Association Perpetuation Plan (TAPP), a partnership between the Westfield Agents Association of Ohio, Inc. and Westfield Companies, graduates its first class.

1993

Westfield Companies acquires Beacon Insurance Company of America to expand agency representation in Ohio.

1995

Niche products introduced for home, auto, and businesses through American Select. Westfield Companies acquires Economy Farm business to expand writings in Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin.
